Film Review: Veronica

by All Horror on October 11th, 2018 | |

Taking place in Madrid in the 1990s, Veronica, a Spanish language horror film, insists its based on a real life emergency call and response that haunted its investigating officer for life. The story goes like this: after playing with a home-made ouija board with friends from her catholic school during an eclipse, a teenage girl, Verónica, is besieged by a dangerous supernatural presence that threatens to harm her mother and siblings. Her father is deceased and her and her siblings wonder if the entity itself is not her father back from the grave, but it’s more likely that a demonic force is using his absence as a guise to be allowed in.
