Newspaper reporter, Rachel Keller is skeptical of the urban legend surrounding a cursed videotape in Gore Verbinski’s remake of the Japanese original, The Ring. Rachel heard about the video that kills you a week after you watch it, but she was skeptical until she found four cases of dead teenagers that seemed to fit it. Consumed with curiosity she watches the video herself and receives the phone call telling her she only had 7 days to live. The video is full of disturbing images and Rachel travels across the state to uncover the truth behind it and how a young girl with a disturbing power was thrown into a well to die. Unjustly murdered the girl, Samara, etched herself as a curse onto the video tape so that she could do the same to others.
