In Cabin in the Woods five college students make their way to a remote cabin in the woods for a weekend free of stress. Written by Joss Whedon the film is not just a horror film but instead deconstructs the genre in order to make fun of it and yet still present a genuine horror filled film. The characters arrive at their location and discover a basement filled with different mysterious artifacts that will unknowingly determine their fates. Behind the scenes lies a strange corporate office working to make sure the group fulfills their individual roles as the virgin, the jock, and so on, to satiate the Lovecraftian blood thirsty gods that secretly rule the world.
