James Wan’s Saw open on Adam, a photographer, and Lawrence, a doctor, as they awaken in chains in a dilapidated bathroom, not knowing how they arrived. Through micro-cassette tapes they realize that they are a part of a sick game designed by a deranged, sadistic serial killer, Jigsaw, who abducts people to teach them lessons of morality. One of them is challenged to kill the other before 6:00pm so that his family will live, and the two men begin to uncover how they know each other. Outside Lawrence’s home a disgraced police officer obsessed with Jigsaw is determined to catch Lawrence for Jigsaw’s crimes as he’s convinced he’s guilty. As the clock counts down tensions rise and the gore hits high levels.
