Attending a new school can be hard and that counts double for starting college. In the French language film Raw, Justine, a young vegetarian, has joined the ranks of a prestigious school of veterinary sciences. The hazing rituals at the school are intense and Alexia, Justine’s older sister is unwilling to make it any easier. When she is forced to each a bit of rabbit liver her hunger for meat suddenly grows until even raw steaks can’t satisfy her and human flesh looks utterly more appetizing. The film is a slow burn that takes it’s time building to a horrifying and gory climax when the viewer realizes that this craving might run in the family.
