Hereditary 2018

by All Horror on October 01st, 2018 | |

Hereditary is the first feature film from writer and director Ari Aster, starring Toni Colette and Alex Wolff, about a grief-stricken and dysfunctional family succumbing to their own inner most demons at the prodding and pushing of a mysterious demonic cult. Dealing with the accidental loss of a family member is the driving tension of this A24 film, but mental illness and of course cults make for a lot of drama as well. The film is light on the gore, so it packs a punch when it suddenly shows up. Toni Collette’s character is trying her hardest to cope and tries and fails to put it into her work, eventually going to mad lengths to convince her family of what she knows is true.
