A horror comedy, Arachnophobia begins as a new species of giant spider from South America travels to a small North American town and cross-breeds with a local spider, making their offspring deadly. Though they are infertile there are hundreds of them and they spread themselves quickly killing residents of the California town. A new doctor in town has arachnophobia and begins to suspect there is a deadly spider somewhere killing his patients. As an Entomologist and spider exterminator come to help they fear a worldwide epidemic from a possible fertile queen and it’s up to the petrified Ross to kill the spiders himself.

Squirm (1976)
